Not mentioning her thoughts, she turned her gaze away from the coin to read the letter in Arhyen’s hands. It read simply:
It’s not over. I’ll see you soon.

“Hamlet?” she questioned, already knowing the answer.
Arhyen and Ephraim both nodded.
“We’ve jumped from the frying pan and into the fire, I’d wager,” Ephraim said caustically.
Liliana nodded, thinking that Ephraim had come up with the perfect analogy for their situation. The kettle began to steam, just as a knock sounded on the door.
Hearts racing, they all turned toward the sound. What now?
